Film Production

HOW TO MAKE PRODUCTION EASIER

-Write as little dialogue as possible → dialogue is hard to write well, your actors are amateurs, and it will encourage to SHOW DON’T TELL!
-Shoot LOADS of ‘mood shots’ (where nothing happens)
-Make your narrative as simple as possible
-Only employ the most reliable cast and crew members
-Choose your locations carefully (bearing in mind where your crew and cast live)
-Use areas near/around the college
-Consider using the college’s photography studio → ask me if you want to book it
-Think about lighting
  • Interior shots - you will probably need to light these yourself (with the college’s LED lights, not horrible strip-lights)
  • Exterior shots - only shoot when the weather is giving you the light you want
-DON’T SHOOT AT NIGHT! (it looks horrible)
-Think about sound
  • Write your dialogue scenes so they take place inside (as much as possible)
